Grand Rapids, MI.— Columbian Logistics Network, along with American Trucking Associations and the entire trucking industry, is honoring the millions of professional truck drivers this week who work to deliver America’s freight safely and securely every day.
“Federal and State authorities have consistently made it harder to be a professional driver, and for a long time, companies made it less enticing to become one,” said Blair Thomas, Director of Customer Care, Columbian Logistics Network. “So it’s no surprise we have a shortage of drivers in this country. We know that every driver we have is a valuable member of the organization, during Truck Driver Appreciation Week and every day.”
During National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, September 10-16, Columbian Logistics Network will mark the celebration by gifting our drivers with designated snack stations stocked with healthy snacks and refreshing beverages for the road, branded phone mounts for their trucks, and fuel cards. External drivers that visit Columbian facilities are welcome to take complimentary drinks for their day on the road.
There are more than 3.5 million professional truck drivers nationwide – delivering everything from food to local grocery stores to books to neighborhood schools. These professional men and women log close to 724 billion miles annually and last year, delivered nearly 70% of the U.S. freight tonnage – or 10.55 billion tons. 80 percent of U.S. communities depend solely on the trucking industry for their goods and commodities. Professional truck drivers keep this country moving forward.
Columbian Logistics Network asks you to take this week to recognize the significant contributions of our professional truck drivers. The efficiency and safety that these drivers guarantee allow businesses and American citizens to confidently ship goods across state lines and to every corner of the country.
Columbian Logistics Network wants to especially thank the 80 professional truck drivers working hard for Columbian every day.
